We are all the same

Hello , my name is Réa Abujrab, I am a Syrian citizen. To most people reading the previous sentence, I am now considered a terrorist,an outsider,and a close minded person but truly I am just like you, I am a normal teenager ;

I love to sing, I love to play basketball, I love to play the piano, I have a big sister, a dog and I want to become a lawyer. I aim to show you that we are not terrorists, we don’t produce danger, we are not close minded people, we are just like you ; we aim high, we educate ourselves,we are peaceful and kind. But of course there are some people who live up to all your bad expectations,we are not all statistically perfect.I want to show you the true beauty of our beautiful Damascus before and after the war,how it survived in a way that was unique and special, I want to raise awareness of what’s truly happening and help every person I get the chance to . People tend to describe us using the adjectives I previously used because of our origin, but I am proud and lucky to be a Syrian as it has made me a survivor , a fighter and most importantly a human,even though I have witnessed terrible and cruel acts exposed in front of me Syria has always defended its citizens and we are thankful for every defense that has been used for our sake.
